Some thoughts on Fusion Therapy® and Pain Perception:
Our bodies do an uncanny job of regulating our continuously changing states in order to try and maintain homeostasis. We derive feelings from the physiological condition of our bodies. The neuroanatomical components (i.e., skin, fascia, spinal cord and brain) cause us to constantly evaluate ‘How do I feel?’. Thus, they actually beget our self-awareness. Such perceptions are;
  • Temperature
  • Pain
  • Tickle
  • Sensual Touch
  • Muscular and Visceral Sensations
  • Hunger and Thirst
  • Air Hunger
  • Many Others Related to the Body’s State
Through informed and skilled touch, your ability to interpret sensory signals (sentience) will be fostered which will enhance your brain and body’s capacity to heal itself. In fact, modern neuroscience has hypothesized that manual therapy promotes the body to self-regulate, self-sense, and self-correct. The Fusion Therapy® approach facilitates the human body’s innate ability to self-regulate, leveraging the use of touch to augment the brain’s perception of pain, thus elevating the awareness of your feelings, emotions, and consciousness.
